Lake Nipissing, meaning "Big little-water lake" is one of my favorite lakes in Canada situated in northern Ontario next to the city of North Bay.
 
Having been their more times that I can count, Lake Nipissing is renowned for its fishing and its striking beauty where I have taken an untold number of photographs. These photos and memories are the beginnings of many of my paintings.
 
The lake is the third-largest in the province of Ontario with a maximum length of 65 km (40 mi.) and a maximum width of 25 km (16 mi.). The sandy basin, hundreds of rocky islands, small bays and weedy sections combine to provide a diverse habitat for a multitude of fish species making it a wonderland for the passionate fisherman.
