WELCOME TO MY UNIQUE WORLD OF LIGHT AND COLOUR...
“...Trebor’s artworks are about as stylish as art can get where this innovative artist uses out-of-the-box painting techniques and ...how he moves light around in absolutely stunning ways making his paintings totally fashionable to own. To date I have purchased over a dozen paintings, and I will be buying more in the coming months."

About Colourist Art
About Colourist Art
Over the past 150 years, the art world has had a history of painters and art movements that have pushed forward the limits of artistic techniques and created new artistic styles. Impressionism, fauvism, symbolism, cubism, to name a few... and now "Colourist Art" has moved these boundaries even further.
“......my Colourist Art form, at once, catches the attention of the viewer as being an innovative art style due to my never-before-seen painting techniques, my use of colour where I will exaggerate or use an unexpected colour rather than what mother earth wants me to see or my unique employment of light diffusion to create exceptional depth and dimension......" Trebor
“...colour for me is my primary means of expression. Instead of focusing mainly on form, line, or realistic detail, as a colourist artist I use bold, vibrant, or intermix colors choices to evoke mood, convey emotion or feeling, and structure the composition where the subject may be recognizable, but it’s the colour that defines its presence within the painting.......” Trebor
"......my distinctive art form is unlike any other artist and it truly stands out by itself by filling a space with colour and light......” Trebor
“......considered by many as an experimental artist, I continuously strive to develop newer painting techniques that allows me to express my emotional state and inner responses to a landscape or scene as did the Impressionists before me using light and colours......” Trebor
Contrary to many contemporary artists exploring colour to create emotion and perception, Trebor blends together oil-based paints, acrylics and other mixed media mediums in a unique approach to create never before seen visual effects within the work of art itself. Exploiting these paint mixtures to there fullest, he has developed methods that enhances colour brilliance to new levels creating additional depth and dimension in a painting that draws only on the surrounding light.
To create these painting techniques Trebor exploits to his advantage the basic physical principles of light and visual optics: “Colour tones are varying wavelengths that we translate into colour brilliancy” and “Light is either reflected, refracted, absorbed or a combination of these when it reaches any surface.”
Reflection occurs when light meets a surface and is bounced back or reflected, in varying intensities, to be captured by the viewer’s eyes. Trebor employs this principle to create visual effects by contrasting the sheen or gloss values within distinct locations in his paintings. These varying intensities of “reflected light” are then captured by the viewers eyes, that then translates the painting’s scene as having incredible depth and dimension.
Refraction takes place when a part of the light changes direction when it meets an uneven surface resulting in about 10 to 15% of this light to be refracted and lost to the viewer. Trebor applies this principle to create paintings that vibrate with stunning and powerful colours by minimizing the “refracted rate” of light lost to its absolute minimum. He achieves this by always creating smooth painted surfaces where nearly all of the light is refracted to the viewer’s eyes for them to view paintings that are exploding with colour and vibrancy.
Absorption happens when a part of the light is neither reflected nor refracted but absorbed by the surface it meets. Trebor exploit’s this principle by adding paint additives to his mixtures to control the surface’s “absorption level.” Depending upon the level of absorption created by Trebor these various paint mixtures will create brightness variations within the artwork.
Like the pre and post impressionist painters of over a century ago, Trebor has moved the yardsticks forward in regard to the usage of colour vividness and the manipulation of light by creating his own art revolution with “Colourist Art” and has transformed the way art lovers like you will view and appreciate art.
Before you ask yourself the question, the answer is… "YES... I have a sixth sense for colour!”
Quotes from past interviews:
"...I have a thing about lighting-up assorted colours to enhance or distort them. I enjoy discovering them... over and over again, to understand them, dissect them and intensify them. I like how colour reveal’s my passion or indifference, my awareness or unawareness, the perfect or the not-so-perfect in myself, the natural or the hypocritical."
My colorist paintings are always a journey... trials, errors, construction, reconstructions of style and a resurgence of my emotions on canvas. In essence... I go all-out to create art that will have a momentous impact internally and externally on the viewer and draw their attention to my unprecedented ways of treating colour and light diffusion.”
