About the Artwork

The Blakeney Rapids, that are part of the Mississippi river, is a string of large and small rapids that branch out over a large area which descend for nearly a kilometer just before flowing into the Ottawa river near Almonte, Ontario. Many years ago, I spent days just contemplating the extraordinary scenery, swimming and walking in the rapids and just enjoying the moment of being able to touch nature. I personally call the rapids my own “Center of the Universe.”

As a colorist painter this artwork is very representative of my artistic portfolio. Most of the subject matters in my urban and country landscapes are located in various provincial and national parks throughout Canada, certain areas in the Ottawa/Gatineau Region and from photographs taken during trips in other countries.
