The photo that was used to inspire this painting was taken many years ago along the Saint Lawrence River between Cornwall and Montreal. The actual location is just outside the town of Lancaster, ON.
What inspired me to take the picture was the various bright colours of these buildings and the way the sun's brilliance was reflecting off the multitude of boathouses along this back road.
