The inspiration for this painting is from a photo that was taken a few years ago in the Laurentian Mountains, just north of Montreal, Quebec during an overnight hiking trip. We were camped at the end of this small creek just before it merged with a larger river. 
 
The view from the camp site was spectacular, especially in the early morning, when the mountains in the distance turned into a mixture of various blue hues dues to the early morning light reflecting of the light mist hanging over the forest and mountains.
