The scene is from a photo taken at Mud Lake many years ago in the Gatineau Park just off the main parkway which is situated north of Ottawa. This small lake is considered a mountain lake that varies in size based on the rain it receives. This natural phenomenon of varying water levels compels the bordering forest in a perpetual cycle of rejuvenation.
